Thanks to everyone for taking the time out of their schedules to post here. A special thanks to Ardell for keeping in contact with me and letting me know of the response on raincityguide.com.

I’m sure my family will want to do all of the things suggested here. Any suggestions for a good, local, non-touristy restaurant that the “locals” frequent?

My two boys enjoyed the climbing walls at Marymoor Park. Also, great mountain bike trails around Tiger Mountain.

Blake Island is fun at the Indian Longhouse if they want a taste of the native. Greenlake amd Lake Samm have great hydro raising that’s lots of fun to watch. And don’t forget the cycledome at Marymoor.

EMP would work. Also don’t forget the Needle… Underground tour… Standard tourist fare, but they would be interesting for a Floridian (or a Texan for that matter).

The weekend after the 4th is the Chinatown-International District Summer Festival.

I’ve never been in Seattle during the summer, so I have no idea what Seafair events are like..

I would suggest the Museum of Flight and/or a tour of the 747 plant in Everett.

I have two boys and they like to visit the Ballard Locks, Fremont Troll, Experience Music Project and any of the city parks that they can run, run, run. Also, anything on the waterfront is fun- with dinner at the end at The Spaghetti Factory.
