[...] Seattle Real Estate Calendar Update May 28, 2006 Thanks to Tom of Trumba, I’ve been playing around with Trumba’s calendar solutions. They are definitely doing some interesting things and there are some benefits to their solution that go above and beyond the current offerings of Google Calendar I discussed a little while back. In particular, I really like two features they’ve added to the NYTime’s Automotive Calendar that I think could easily be ported to the Seattle real estate scene. [...]

Hi Everyone:

I took a look at some of the events on and published them on Trumba. Take a look and let me know what you think (feel free to try out the Add to My Calendar feature in particular).

http://www.trumba.com/calendars/rain_city_guide

There's a ton of other stuff you can do like embed it inside any web page or add a smaller widget to your blog headlining next 3 upcoming events etc.

[...] Magnus Svantegård asked me if I was going to the Realcomm conference in Houston this June. I’d never even heard of this conference, but I’m interested in learning more.
Hi Dustin,

I didn't get your email but just sent you one; hopefully we can connect soon. Since you asked, our Pro version has an Outlook synch add-in if that's important to you :-)

Marlow, it's funny you brought up Jupiter since their research arm uses a Trumba calendar here:

I tried to download the calendar, but was unsuccessful, so I'll just put the info here.

Another event that might be of interest to those with a website or blog is the Search Engine Forum May 19th at the Hotel Monaco in Seattle. SEF was founded by Danny Sullivan, a leading expert in SEO. For those new to the game, you can learn to submit URLs, use HTML meta tags and boost placement from an expert. I'm doing great in Google, but what happened in Yahoo? New algorhythm? It's making me crazy.... maybe I'll find out.

Great question... How could this apply to real estate community in a more broad way?

Personally, I set it up because I keep hearing about events a few days before they occur and/or while they are going on and I've love to have some more head's up about real estate technology events going on around the country. I figure that if a group of interested people all use one calendar for events of interest, there is a much greater likelihood that we end up finding out about interesting stuff early.

In my mind, calendars represent one small piece of the entire social networking pie that is pretty undeveloped in the real estate community. Although as you state, there is already a place for a public calendar, so this is just one step in making that the updating easier.

Dustin-

How is this applicable to real estate brokers, agents and allied real estate professionals?

Individual branch offices or independently owned franchises now have the capacity to make announcements to staff regarding events via the internet: broker's opens, public opens, staff meetings, office events, training events--such as your Bloginar of course!

Individual agents can apply this to their own practice for their clients benefit: scheduled showings, open houses, advertising schedules, listing appointment, vacations, mortgage progress updates, placement into their own Blog....lot's of potential.

Although a totally different platform, our <a href="http://www.legacyescrow.net/101996.ihtml" rel="nofollow">Closing Calendar</a> accomplishes a similar benefit to our core clients: personalized transaction updates for buyers, sellers, agents, mortgage and others--24hrs/day. Plus, everyone can see our entire closing schedule and plug your client into a date that is less busy/frantic for escrow staff.

Tom,

I'm definitely interested in learning more and I've just sent you an email! I'd love to have a solution that integrated with Outlook and Robbie will attest that Google doesn't need any more of my support! LOL!
