Another event that might be of interest to those with a website or blog is the Search Engine Forum May 19th at the Hotel Monaco in Seattle. SEF was founded by Danny Sullivan, a leading expert in SEO. For those new to the game, you can learn to submit URLs, use HTML meta tags and boost placement from an expert. I’m doing great in Google, but what happened in Yahoo? New algorhythm? It’s making me crazy…. maybe I’ll find out.

Personally, I set it up because I keep hearing about events a few days before they occur and/or while they are going on and I’ve love to have some more head’s up about real estate technology events going on around the country. I figure that if a group of interested people all use one calendar for events of interest, there is a much greater likelihood that we end up finding out about interesting stuff early.

In my mind, calendars represent one small piece of the entire social networking pie that is pretty undeveloped in the real estate community. Although as you state, there is already a place for a public calendar, so this is just one step in making that the updating easier.

How is this applicable to real estate brokers, agents and allied real estate professionals?

Individual branch offices or independently owned franchises now have the capacity to make announcements to staff regarding events via the internet: broker’s opens, public opens, staff meetings, office events, training events–such as your Bloginar of course!

Individual agents can apply this to their own practice for their clients benefit: scheduled showings, open houses, advertising schedules, listing appointment, vacations, mortgage progress updates, placement into their own Blog….lot’s of potential.
