I use Craigslist all the time for real estate and other stuff. I think it's a tremendous contributor towards recycle and reuse for personal items, so I even love it on a moral basis. The point of the post was not "Craigslist BAD" (in fact, it's very good) but to pass on an interesting story and the obvious word of caution that you can't take anything on this type of service at face value. Bummer of a prank for the poor owners of this home. Craig - someone already nuked it over the weekend. I had it cached in my RSS reader and when I looked for it live again Sunday it was already gone. Its too bad that it gets abused like that. We do training for our real estate agent clients on how to use craigslist but more importantly how not to use it. I think it is important for every Realtor. On a side note, our new Ubertor software is integrated with Craigslist so that Realtors can quickly add listings to it. Craigslist is a great tool. Its too bad that it gets abused like that.

Agents can easily receive 6-12 leads just by taking 5 minutes of their time and putting their listing on Craigslist. I'd rank it as the best agent marketing tool in terms of ROI (free!).
