[...] Responding to Dustin’s offer to help Ardell during the Sellsius 101 Blog-a-thon (Yikes, Dustin! I know it’s the home team and all but 1. that woulda been cheating; and 2. you shoulda had more faith in Ardell; and 3. you don’t write like Ardell; and 4. that woulda been cheating!), Ardell nobly responded that she was so busy she never even saw his offer till after she had reached her goal, and even had she seen the offer she wouldn’t have accepted. The risk of having RCG go down in the middle of competition was weighing heavy on me. Also, it wouldn’t have been fair to Greg, unless he allowed Christine in, and then we’d have to deal with Dustin wrote 35 % and Christine wrote 33% translating into something that would cloud the achievement.
"It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit."

I've seen that quote attributed to Harry S. Truman. I love the sentiment, and wish I saw it in actual practice a lot more often.

[...] I fully expected Dustin Luther of Rain City Guide to file a post replete with 101 links at midnight last night. I thought it would be a nice comentary on the absurdity of what Ardell and I were doing, and a nice pistache on his lists-of-10 posts. In fact, he delivered a hugely link-filled post later in the night, most of which still sits on my nightstand, undigested. [...]

I felt very badly when I got past 101 or so and saw an email that you were busily preparing to come to my aid. We had already changed the rules to one and one by then...but I felt awful picturing you writing thirty entries just in case I needed a reprieve...and yes I DID need a reprieve at #42 or so and cranked out crap to 50 before resting.

I am very happy to see that you were able to utilize these wonderful ideas, though #9 confused me as the second sentence appears to be still talking about me, and I was confused in a negative way when I first read it in my brain fried state. Seems a reference to Real Estate Cafe in the 2nd sentence might be in order.

The risk of having RCG go down in the middle of competition was weighing heavy on me. Also, it wouldn't have been fair to Greg, unless he allowed <strike>Christine</strike> Cathleen in, and then we'd have to deal with Dustin wrote 35 % and Christine wrote 33% transalating into something that would cloud the achievement.

I think it really had to be one on one to be meaningful. Though Joe and Rudy doing 50 vs us trying to do 101 singlehandedly each seemed an impossibility. I'm glad it wasn't.

P.S. 10/28 my first ever "strike out"

Greg,

You can be sure that I thought about it... Originally, I wanted to team with Ardell, but she was all about doing this thing solo. If it wasn't for the fact that I had a ton of stuff to do at work yesterday, I would have loved to have taken part.

With that said, I'm very impressed with what you and Ardell came up with! You're 102 posts are all better than any short snippet of information I was going to provide! :)
