Barb Schwarz - Home Staging - New Book

As a real estate photographer, I found this interesting, that a stager would actually be aware of staging from the photographer’s view. I frequently find myself needing to move some of the items to better fit the photograph. I would think that without the stager present at the time of the photography, there is no way that they can really know. Although, it would make sense for the stager to at least put themselves in the place of a photographer and walk around the room and examine the various perspectives. I had a situation recently that just wasn’t working for me because of the type of chairs (high back) placed in the living room were blocking the view of the fireplace from the ideal perspective of the room. It was the seller who came up with the brilliant solution of facing the two high back chairs face to face instead of toward the fireplace. And it worked! A perfect composition. You learn new things from all kinds of sources.

Queen Anne Condos

Ah, my alma mater. I guess it’s a sore point for many of us, like myself, who attended this high school that it’s no longer a high school that we can visit. : ( I’m also sad that I can’t afford to buy one of the units : ((

I will try to attend the open house or broker’s open for one last look.

Once a Grizzley, always a Grizzley!

The Importance of Using the Digital Darkroom...

Although don’t use Picasa because I am a Mac user, I recommend it to everyone I know who owns a PC and a digital camera. If you really want power though, go with Photoshop Elements or perhaps Paint Shop Pro. Photoshop Elements is not expensive and has Quick Fix mode that is very easy to use and you still have all the access to the additional tools. And then there is iPhoto for the Mac folks, comparable to Picasa.

Even if you don’t shoot your own listings. Get picasa.

Yes Osman, I could have lifted the left edge upward with the distort tool ever so slightly. I guess then it would be ready for the cover of Architectual digest. :)
