RCG’s Ardell and Rhonda Win Three of the Magnificent Seven Awards for 2008

Larry Cragun compiles a long list of consumer centric blog articles throughout the year and just released his 2008 picks for the Magnificent Seven Awards.  RCG’s Rhonda Porter and Ardell DellaLoggia made it to the top.  Here are the winning RCG entries:

Flat Screen TV: Is it Attached?
by Ardell DellaLoggia
“At what point does a wall mounted TV that is hard wired into the wall without outlets become “an installed electrical fixture” per the terms of the contract and included in the sale of the house?  I don’t think anyone expects to get someone else’s TV…or do they?”

Borrower Beware
by Rhonda Porter
“You would like to think that with all the licensing and tougher times, that all the mortgage riff-raff have gone back to selling what ever it was they did before…it’s not true…not yet.   In fact, it was recently announced that during the first quarter of this year, there’s a record amount of mortgage fraud.”

Bait and Switch Mortgage Advertising
by Rhonda Porter
“Today I noticed a Wachovia ad on the TV promoting a low rate of 5.50%…home owners are dancing for joy.  If you watch real closely to the fast moving small print, it discloses that the rate is from January…um folks, February is almost gone and so is the rate that Wachovia is currently running on CNBC.   If you call them for 5.50% (bait) they’re going to offer you something in the low to mid-6’s (switch) per their website tonight.”

Congratulations to Ardell and Rhonda! For the entire list of seven, head on over to Larry’s RealEstateUndressed.

  1. Thanks, Jillayne :) This was the last year that Larry Cragun is doing this huge task…we’re the last batch of Magnificent 7.

  3. Congrats to you, too, Ardell and to all of the Mag 7. :) I think this is deja vu from 2007 Mag 7 where we were both recognized for consumer focused post.

I can understand why Larry would need to shelve the Mag 7 awards… just trying to keep with all the lending and RE agent changes would enough to keep anyone plenty busy!
