I just spoke with Sami Inkinen and Kelly Roark of Trulia. They are currently making the rounds in Seattle, and we all agreed that it would be fun to spend some time talking “real estate technology” while they are in town! (Why aren’t they in Seattle yet???)
However, knowing that I’m not the only person interested in learning a little more about Trulia, I’ve cajoled them into attending a “Trulia Chat” tonight at a local coffee shop.
So, here’s the plan… Sami and Kelly are going to be at Fremont Coffee (459 N. 36th St.) at 7pm for an hour of informal chat. Anyone interested in welcome to attend and there is no need to RSVP (although a comment if you plan to attend is welcome!).

Without a doubt these guys have one of the nicest home search interfaces around and when they finally do decide to launch in Seattle, they will be sure to drive a lot of traffic to the websites of a few local (and lucky) brokers.
I’m there. Gotta see what my future competitors are up to.. 🙂

Lucky Seattle 🙂 I wish I could attend. Do they import MLS or they actually get listings from the agents that participate in the program? And what about those RSS feeds? People saying I can not show properties through the feeds on my site… so how come everyone has feeds? Would be really cool if you guys had a chat room or a forum or something… where I could ask all these dumb questions and bugg Robbie on technical issues 🙂

But a chat room? That had never even occurred to me. I know that I could easily set up one, but maybe it would be better to get everyone on Skype of something similar? Along those lines, I noticed that Noah over at UrbanDigs has a real estate chat once a week, maybe we should set something similar up?
Yeh, would be cool! No, I don’t have questions right now, but if you taped the discussion you could do a podcast or vodcast if you have DV camcoder 🙂 Or just type up a summary of the meeting later 🙂
Oh no! It’s 7pm and I guess I’m missing the meeting. Ditto w/what Max said, take lots of notes so you can summarize for the rest of us!
It’s probably best that I can’t make it. This way you’ll never find out that I’m still using my old high school photo on my website…..
Re, a chat room or forum: Max and I are both clients of Advanced Access and they have a great real estate forum that has 1000’s of members and you can go there any time of day or night and someone else is there, either another member or a AA staff person, and they’re always ready and willing to answer a question or solve a tech problem. I don’t think RCG has reached that apex (yet!) where it could get that kind of synergy, but maybe some day….
I can’t wait to read the next post about the meeting. Keep us informed!

We had a wonderful conversation with Kelly and Sami, but instead of writing a big summary post last night, I fell asleep. 😉
As far as I could tell, no one took any notes and we didn’t record the conversation, but that won’t stop me from putting a summary post together! If any of the other attendees want to add their notes, just let me know!
