The Escrow Files: sometimes stuff happens

When checks are late to the recipients, escrow tends to sweat. Now we know where this check ended up! Everyone started laughing when we received this 1/6th scale “lost” check in the plastic baggy from the post office. This was shreaded and after a few minutes of taping what we had together and smoothing it out with books, this is what was left!
Note the language on the postal baggy: “We care….we hope this didn’t inconveniece you….” Nah, we enjoy angry customers wondering where their money is. 🙂

  1. Everyone including Lynlee was laughing at this. It’s the funnier side of escrow. At least we knew what happened to the check and submitted a new one to the recipient. No dirty laundry, just a glimpse into the crazy things that can happen! 🙂

  2. Hey at least on the rare occasion that something arrives damaged from the post office, they have the decency to apologize for it. That’s a heck of a lot more than can be said for UPS or FedEx, where it seems to be the norm for packages to arrive looking as if they were transported through a war zone with giant targets painted on all sides.

  3. One of the Numero Uno factors in a real estate transaction, from the department if licensing standpoint, is that the Earnest Money BE where it is supposed to be within the timeframe set by the contract.

Hand delivery, to the Earnest Money holder, is always best. The DOL doesn’t like excuses of any kind

  4. HI Ardell,

You speak the truth! And no, I didn’t insert ANY tags into the post regarding ‘dirty laundy’. Perhaps some other RCG gremlins did it for me. LOL !
