Rhonda Porter on 11 16, 2007
It’s Jillayne’s birthday! I was just checking out my Facebook profile and noticed that one of our very own is celebrating a birthday today. I have known Jillayne for more years than we probably care to admit! We once worked together for a large title insurance company…in our youts, as Vinnie would say. If my memory serves, she was a title rep for Snohomish County and I was for King County.
Jillayne, I hope you have a wonderful birthday and many more to come. As it is your special day, I won’t super-impose your head onto anything.
All my best to you!

Aww, thanks, Rhonda, and thanks to all my facebook buddies who posted a comment on my facebook wall.
My week: Teaching nonstop and working like mad to keep up with thousands of desperate loan originators who have waited until now to complete their required two continuing ed courses and take their exam.
I just taught a class today on blogging to a group of Realtors at the Sea King Co Assoc of Realtors office, and now I’m sitting here at the university waiting for my 415 class to begin. Tomorrow it’s a soccer tournament and then…the Edmonds Woodway playoff football game against Eastlake!
I will be there rooting for the EW Warriors! Watch for my daughter in the band. She’s the only girl in the percussion section…the game might even make the evening news!
Life is good and even better since I started blogging with all of you.
But I’m still going to get you back for turning me into Darth Jillayne, Rhonda. If you were hoping that this post would keep you safe, you are sorely mistaken.
Jillayne, I’m scared!!! Really scared.
BTW, you certainly know how to celebrate your birthday.
Wishing you and your daughter a WIN for your birthday! Happy Birthday and many, many more. It’s been my great honor to be associated with you here on RCG.
The two utes?
Happy Birthday, Jillayne. Personally, I think it’s reprehensible that some title company hired you and Rhonda when you were in Jr High but who am I to criticize?
[...] I was on Rain City Guide, wishing Jilayne a happy birthday, today. I scrolled through the posts to see the typical “Do Away With YSP post” that dominates the internet today. It’s another example of heading South to eventually go North. [...]
Hi Ardell,
Thanks for the good wishes! Here’s a great story about one of the Edmonds Woodway Warrior players.

Hi Brian,
I actually did start in the industry when I was in Jr. High. This industry has a tendency to recruit inexpensive child labor from one’s own family.
I worked at People’s Mortgage in Seattle during the summers. That’s where my parents met and fell in love. Back in the day, you couldn’t work for the same company if you were married so one of my parents had to quit and move to another mortgage company.
Around the dinner table, I heard about Fannie Mae and Ginnie Mae so many times, I thought they were real people.
Jillayne, that’s funny. My husband worked for his parents at Pac West Mortgage when he was a teen (he claims cleaning toilets).
Aww, shucks. I just thought you two became old enough to drink.
Well Brian, I was just carded last at the movie theaters buying tickets to an R rated show. But that does not happen often.
Edmonds Woodway won! Off to the semi-finals next weekend at the Tacoma Dome!!
I love it when I get carded at the grocery store…but, it doesn’t happen as often as it used to. Drats!
Happy Belated Birthday Jillayne! I hope it was a wonderful one, and may you continue to get carded on occassion! : )
Have fun at the Tacoma Dome this coming weekend for the semi-finals, I am sure it will be an exciting event for your daughter and her bandmates to play there for the game. Go EW Warriors!
Hi Deborah, thanks for the good wishes. My younger daughter’s soccer team also won the tournament in their division so it was a double good weekend.
I just sent an agent your way to take a look at how you do neighborhood blogs as she was interested in doing the same thing in a different area.
Hi Jillayne, YEAH for your daughter’s team!
I’m happy to talk to the agent if she contacts me, was she in your class last week?
